Setting Up Your Profile & Recording

When you create your account, you will be prompted to set up your profile and record your name. This ensures that whenever you share your profile, others know exactly who you are and how to pronounce your name.

Profile Setup Steps

  1. Profile Photo: Upload an avatar or headshot. This is required so people can put a face to the name!
  2. Your Name: Enter your First and Last name.
  3. Your Nouncify URL: We will automatically generate a custom URL (e.g. nouncify.com/i/your-name). If it’s already taken, we’ll append a number to make it unique. You can always change this later in Settings.
  4. Persona Details: Depending on the type of profile you chose, you can add optional details:
    • Social: Add up to 4 descriptive words about yourself (e.g., Creative, Adventurous).
    • Professional: Add your current job title or role.

Recording Your Name

Recording your name is the most important step. We give you 10 seconds of audio to make sure you have enough time to say your name clearly.

  1. Tap the Mic button to start recording. (You may need to grant your browser microphone permissions).
  2. We recommend starting with: “My name is [Your Name]”.
  3. The recording will automatically stop after 10 seconds, or you can tap the Stop button when finished.
  4. Tap the Play button to listen back to your recording.
  5. Not happy with it? Tap Retake to try again!
